Day 4

Well, chemo started Thursday and I spent the last 2 days wiped out on the couch. The nausea hit like a wrecking ball that night. So it's been a round of trying not to vomit, trying to poo and trying to stay awake! Cor blimey! For some reason my doc doesn't like dex so I didn't even get the crazy dex mania! I made a foray to the shops today which was good to get out of the house, albeit a slow one leaning on a trolley! Phew! One down, three to go! And then we get weekly taxol. Yay. Not!

  • Aaaaaah love, it's ok to whinge, that's why we're all hear, to give and to take support. That's a bit shit about your margins! Hope they can sort it out for the best outcome. I hear you about registrars and the like. I had my booby surgeries at the private but had my port put in at the public. Not sure who did the actual insertion (probably a surgical reg) but a dim witted med student tried unsuccessfully to cannulate me with an unsheathed cannula that she pulled out of a kidney dish. The worst part is that I let her do it without saying a word!!! Crazy times we live in my friend! Chin up angel, sending you biiiiiig iHugs xxx
  • So glad you have made a slight improvement, nausea I reckon is one of the worst feelings of all so hope it is over at least  for this round, I have had a little set back increasing pain for some unkown reason and path report has one positve margin even though I went for the matectomy cant beleive my luck on that probably a 1 or 2% chance, oh well good news is only DCIS so no chemo, I know they are going say rads, but I am going to push for re excision dont want to ruin my reconstruction process and would be happier to know clear margins anyway, they have forgotten to do hormone receptors on path also, so will have to chase that up as well, I do wonder what happens to people that dont know that these things have been missed, the nurses where great when I was in, but the registrars and residents leave a lot to be desired I am afraid, I know I shouldnt complain as have been done as public patient and some people have to pay mega bucks on top of their private insurance, but is it to much to ask that people jsut do there jobs arrrh, anyway sorry for rabbiting on just started typing and it all came out, keep on the improve and I hope you have managed to get a delivery from the poo postman at least, that would be a weight of your mind at least or you stomach at least lol
