  • Hi Sharon,

It certainly is a chemo drug. It can all be very confusing remembering what you are on especially with chemo brain.

  • im nont on taxotere is that a chemo drug or a hormone drug......i take that back yes i am on that....lol

  • I also have bloating. I really started to notice it  after round 4 and in one of the photos taken on mother's day that my face was really fat and around my stomach too then a friend of mine said I looked like I had a bloated face like someone on steroids. I know I have put on weight but this was rediculous. Spoke to my oncologist today and was told that Taxotere can cause bloating. Felt better about my apperance after that.

  • What chemostyle says is true but it is important to let the oncology nurses know about the bloating.  It is caused through fluid retention and they will adjust the drugs that you are on.  I must admit the second round has been so much easier - after the first 7 days (the pits).  Hang in there and do try to drink as much water as you can. • I found the first round of Chemo was the hardest.  As if the oncologist professor was doing an experiement with my body and the mountain of drugs.  Eventually the oncologist will adjust the drug base on your body's reaction - that's what happen to me on Fec.  I had bad bloating and reflux to a point that I don't want to drink.   I, was like a preggy bloating woman, ate small meals and avoid bloating food - raw veg, beans, dairy product etc.  I think the drug causes a lot of water-retention.  :(.

It is important you record all the side-effects on day 1,2 ,3, etc and side-effects after certain drugs etc.   Talk to your oncologist during your review.

Personally I found complementary therapy before and after chemo seem to settle my side-effect of chemo.     Check with your doctor and nurse for recommendation.

Hope you feel better soon - look after yourself.   I found BC journey was like being pregnant with myself.  That is making a new healthy person, and be conscious about looking after myself (which we tends to forget being a mum).
