Day 3 post 1st chemo

Symptoms weren't too bad yesterday. Have been awake most of the night though as that is the side effect of Dexamethasone. Woken up with a funny stomach this morning and feeling hot. Planning on getting my head shaved at the end of this week. Would rather that than have it fall out slowly. I was thinking about the hair loss in the middle of the night and had a big cry. First time I have cried in a week. Hoping my symptoms stay controlled.

    Hi Vanessa, have you got yourself a thermometer yet? You don't need to take your temperature every day just if you're feeling hot or shivery. Oh the hair, even now four months after it fell out it still gets me upset. You control your hair , so by all means have the chop if it helps. I hung off as long as I could, but it was still only 2 1/2 weeks after the first chemo before I lost it. I have a wig which I really only wear to work and lots of padded headscarves for home and going out. There are lots of great web sites for hats, scarves and wigs. Stay positive, regards Cheryle :)
