Day 122
Day 122....geez, where has the time gone.
So I am now three chemo's down, one to go. This round was a little tougher than the first two - definitely more tired, and have really just felt a bit 'down' more than anything. Still, I haven't had any nausea, aches or pains or fatigue so I still feel very lucky.
Last chemo is on this coming Monday - can't wait! I can't wait because it's the last!!! Even though I've been well, the whole thing just wears on you. It's becoming a real drag!
I am feeling great today though (I usually do the weekend before chemo) and am heading home tomorrow and seeing lots of friends which I can't wait for.
Backed the winner in the Cup on Tuesday which was fantastic, and even managed to have a few ciders which tasted ok!
Had my appointment with my oncologist on Wednesday - he is just so fantastic and thorough and knowledgable! So next step is appt with the radiation oncologist for five weeks of radiation, likely to start in January. He also gave me a script for Tamoxifen, which I will also be starting in the new year. I was hesistant with the Tamoxifen as have read some horror stories, but he assured me it was the best drug to stop the cancer coming back so I am doing it.
I also spoke with him about having a mastectomy on my other breast, and will also speak with my surgeon next month about it, but that is now definitely on the cards at some point.
I am starting to think about planning a holiday for the end of next year, which I am just super excited about. Two or three weeks in Thailand with my brother and his partner. Will be so nice to have something to look forward to!
So that's my update. I'm plodding along. x
