  • Hi Sharon - I've worn my wig twice - it's ok but feels a bit "tight" after a couple of hours.  I don't mind it too much but prefer to either be bald or just pop a little beanie/hat on.

The fundraiser sounds like a fantastic thing to focus on - good on you!

    Take care,

  • Hi Sharon,  I found when my hair was falling out that my scalp was so sore to touch.  It felt really strange but once my husband shaved it all off the pain went away.  You might find the same and then it will be okay to wear a wig.  I really like wearing my wig but only for special occasions as I feel a bit conscious of it.  It is short and most people know me with long hair.  Mind you it does look nice.  I tend to wear my "skull caps" with a variety of scarfs tied around them.  I am amazed at how I have coped with losing my hair.  I will look forward to having it back again though.XLeonie

  • Shaz,

Enjoy your "good" week, I found I was almost stir crazy by then and so glad to get out and visit and go to the shops, etc.

You might be surprised that all the itchiness will settle, I found my scalp actually ached and was tender to touch. Poor hair follicles were going ahhhhhh! Kept thinking of my hair as leaves on a tree in autumn, one by one dropping to the ground. I have a good short cover of hair now, so no more wig. Even got my curls too.

Good luck with your fundraiser, keep well, Deb
