Cytology Testing

Hi,

I saw my GP today and he made me get a swap and a few slides done to test the fluid i have been getting from my left breast, I think it's a Cytology breast fluid test.
Has anyone had this done?
What does it show and what are they looking for by doing this test? 

I also see the Cancer Genetics for some gene testing on the 26th of this month. 
My GP told me to ask them and see if they wanna do an mammogram.
