Creams
My specialist told me to put creams on scar to reduce scarring. What is the best cream to use? How long after op do you start to use creams?

Hi CheryleO thinking of you today - the 'not knowing' is hard. I know when I was finally told all the ins and outs after my surgery I thought 'ok cancer now I know what I am dealing with, you are no longer in control'.

Someone posted on here about piercing vitamin E capsules (I jab them with my nail file) and smearing the contents on the scars for a good result. I gave that a try and I also used Bio Oil quite a bit and my scars are smooth and not very noticeable - about as good as you could hope for. I think, as Deanne suggested, you can start using something when the wounds are healed.
