Cough while having Paclitaxel

Hi Ladies.

I have had 4 Paclital and have 8 more to go. Up to last week no problems. This week I have had a really bad cough. Was just wondering if this is due to the treatment or just the normal winter coughs and colds. I will tell my Dr when I go tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else has had this. Hopefully it won't affect my treatment tomorrow.

Best regards.

  • That's my struggle, I have gone from the occasional Panadol to being disciplined at taking meds!  Golly, and then the medication induced side effects, don't you just love the way it keeps on giving!
Excellent news that you can continue with your treatment and count them down!
    Take care
  • It's wonderful isn't? I went from someone who hardly ever took an aspirin to someone who needed a weekly pill box to keep count! Good that you can keep your chemo going, now is not the time to treat infections lightly. Hope the cough clears soon.
  • Hi Ladies

Update Chemo went ahead. Apparently I have a chest infection so on Antibiotics,

I have taken more pills in the last 5 months then in all my life.

    Best Regards

  • I had a very chesty cough but I just assumed I got a cold. My oncologist prescribed me antibiotics and I was still able to go ahead with chemo.
    All the best x
  • Thanks Kath definitely will. Just don't want it to affect anything.

  • Def tell the Dr as can be a side effect and they will check you out. It could just be a cold but best to be safe. Kath x
