Core biopsies after treatment finished

My first lot of followup scans at my 1 year check up resulted in me having another core biopsy!!

I remember thinking - No all this stuff is supposed to be over - why am I starting again???
The doctor and nurses reassured me that most biopsies get the all clear - hmmmm exactly what they had told me the year before when they found I had cancer!
But this time they were right - it was all clear - yay me!
Since then I have been called back for repeat mammograms and ultrasounds at my 2nd and 3rd year check ups. To be honest if I get through my 4th year check up (2 more months but who's counting?) without some type of call back I will probably worry that they missed something!!
So yes it does happen - 3 times to me but I am still cancer free. Please try to concentrate on the fact that all this checking is for your good - either an all clear or the earliest possible detection of a recurrence.
