Yes,yes and yes.My breast became very red and swollen after the second zap. I wondered how on earth I was going to manage 6wks of it. Boob was glowing like a hotplate by the end but my skin never broke down or blistered. I would relax and soak in a warm salt bath each night and that helped.Straight after zapping I'd put aloe vera gel on my boob and vit e or whatever the nurses gave me,on at night.Tell your team about your concerns because there is usually a logical explanation.I cried alot,especially in the bath tub but I think it's a good thing to let it out and not bottle it up.It is hard fronting up for all these treatments so your reactions are normal.However,if you are worried about crying alot or having dark thoughts then tell your radio oncologist - it's easy to get depressed on this journey,why wouldn't we. You'll find your boob settles down abit over the weekend when you don't have treatment. Hope this eases your worries.
