My hair had been dyed for about 15 years before I lost it all. When it grew back I asked my Onc (very....no nonsense !!) when can I dye my hair & she just looked at me & said whenever I want but I might want to wait till the hairdresser can get hold of it. I have found it doesn't hold the dye as well as it used to......ie it fades out after 5-6 weeks (yes I know some people have it done more often than that ! ) ......it fades back to the colour we first dyed it, we started lighter to see how it was going to go. It is certainly a lot thinner than it used to be, it had to be thinned heaps before but not at all now .
