It's a shame they aren't promoted a bit more. Some oncology Dr's are very dismissive about it and don't even mention it unless you ask. Even recently I had a work collegues wife going through the same thing , he knew me and had seen me the whole way through treatment. His wife was very excited that she may be able to keep her hair. However when she mentioned it to her doctor he just flat out said, "they don't work, there is no proof". She was devestated that he would not even entertain the idea.
I was very lucky that my breast care nurse had worked in the UK for a number of years and had seen the results over there. She got me in to a hospital that had a brand new machine that had been donated by a previous patient. My nurses were brilliant and very excited about their new machine.
It really just should be an option for everyone that wants to try it without the sometimes blase attitude from some doctors.
