Clinical trial - maintenance chemotherapy

Just wondering if anyone is partaking in the clinical trial IBCSG 22-00 - Maintenance Chemotherapy? This study determines if low-dose chemotherapy with oral cyclophosphamide and methotrexate, given for 12 months following three to six months of standard chemotherapy, delays breast cancer recurrence more effectively than short term standard chemotherapy alone for women with breast cancer that is not hormone-responsive,(I'm triple negative). I've been asked if I want to participate and wanted to know of others experiences with a clinical trial, whether this one or another and if it's worthwhile participating. I'm a little apprehensive about the ongoing side effects of chemo... Any advice, questions to ask, etc would be most appreciated. Thanks, Tammy

    It sounds really good Tammy - let us know how you go with the selection process - fingers crossed you get to try the drugs.  I will definitely mention it to my Oncologist next visit - however will be so tied up with surgeon & radiotherapy appointments next month I doubt I would be able to even apply.  Will follow your progress though!  All the best and fingers crossed for you!

    As another triple negative girl I am interested in what comes of this also.  To participate in these sorts of trials, do you have to live in a certain city?  Im from Brisbane, dont know if that makes any difference.  I agree with Michelle, there a lots of questions I would want to ask before considering something like this, hopefully someone who has some experience with it will make a comment.

    Ive only had my second AC treatment last Monday, so not really in a position to put my hand up for any 'maintenance' treatment as yet, but still find it interesting.
