Hello everyone, just wanting to touch any bases out there, not computer savvy so may not get to anyone but heres hoping, Her-2 grade 3, 30mm lump removed, sentinal nodes clear but have to have MUGA t...
Hi guys
The MUGA test is for how well your heart works. It checks how much volume of blood your heart is pumping out. They will check you regularly during Herceptin because it affects your heart. They give you a first injection and then a few minutes later a second before they put you under the camera for about ten minutes. Then through some voodoo they work out what your ejection fraction is. I think it has to be more than 50% for them to let you carry on with Herceptin. I think an alternative is an echocardiogram, which is less invasive because it's just ultrasound and cheaper.
All the best,
Helen.
