chemo

so the decision is made - I am to have chemo. 4 doses in 21 day cycles. I have all my scripts to get and its all go for next tuesday. a blood test tomorrow (ugh) and then on we go. So today the decision is made - not long to start and get it over with. I have booked into a look good feel better workshop as my oncologist advised that I will lose my hair. Had a bit of a sook with some of my friends today - and no doubt will be nervous on tuesday but the sooner it starts , the sooner it is over. I am having docetaxel and cyclophosphamide. Any hints to help me through and what to pop in my chemo bag will be much appreciated. I hope to mainly work through the chemo - we will see.

    Hi Marg

    I had 4 rounds of same chemo as you...my last in mid Jan & my hair now growing back!

    I was right behind Robyn & stalked her through it all! Like her, I coped quite well (apart from a few hiccups which you can check on my previous blogs if you want) - my mood was an issue for me - I have 2 children who were on school holidays & this was pretty challenging at times....but we managed & making up for lost time now!

    Good luck & just keep on this site - I found it a lifesaver to know you are not alone!

    I had four.I think that is the standard for this regime.There are lots of others on here that have had this exact same one.Try not to worry too much:) Robyn xox

    thats all really useful information. I know I will take time off work, but if I can mainly work it will be great. haing a blood test today. how many doses did you have Robyn? I am having 4.

    Good luck for you too on tuesday. I am off to orientation at the cancer care centre on friday. all a bit of a shock as only spoke to the oncologist today - and booked in for tuesday. What cocktail are you having tuesday.? Will think of you too while we are going through our treatment.

    Good luck I also start my chemo next Tuesday we will be find :) I'm going to the same group aswell well booked into look good feel better looking forward to it. I'm also going to loose my hair my breast nurse took me shopping lol so I got loads of head wear and scarfs and a lovely real hair wig this was all free from my hospital I'm getting treatments done. Wins u the best of luck
