Chemo thoughts please
On the 17th Jan 2012 I sat in the waiting room of the Mater (Newcastle) waiting for my first chemo treatment. I was extremely nervous as I had never been in this situation before and I wasnt sure what to expect. My name was called and up I got and went into the big room where other women and a couple of men where being treated. All calm as anything. They had been here before. The nurse was amazing so spoke about everything she was doing the entire time and I had my husband right beside me. It didnt hurt and within 3 hours I was on my home. Feeling no different to when I arrived.
I woke up the next morning feeling no different - thinking well this is going to be ok. Little to my surprise later that afternoon I started feeling different. Cant explain it just different. So later in the evening I'm feeling tired so I'm off to bed. Well thats when was feeling different turned into what I call hell! I couldnt sleep. No matter what I did I just couldnt sleep. So I would get up move around watch tv talk to myself and eventually I just dropped into bed and I couldnt move. I was so fatigued :( I couldnt get out of bed, I couldnt get to sleep, I would just cry and cry. It was an effort to just have a shower.
Today I feel great! Mouth still yukky, have got over constipation, eating normal, havernt been nausa but I do not intend on having any more chemo. I would love to hear any thoughts to my decision as I am now questioning it???
