Chemo side effects

Met up with a dear friend today who has been on this roller-coaster.  Hair loss was all over but her hair on her head has grown again but the body hair is yet to make an appearance including the eyebrows.
One major side effect is her hearing.  As a direct result of chemo the hair inside the ear canal has not and will not regrow hence hearing aids.
If you're struggling hearing please get yourself checked.
Take care

  • @iserbrown - I thought that as well - I have noticed a heightened sense of smell since I had chemo - didn't think about the fact it would be due to losing nose hair.
  • The other friend commented yesterday that she felt her nose hair hadn't returned fully and her sensitivity towards smells was heightened - no hair to filter

  • May explain my propensity for the sniffles. My nose was badly affected by Taxol and has never been quite the same since. Nose hair may not be attractive but has its uses!
  • Like @primek, never thought of that.  What an awful legacy.
  • Oh my. I never ever thought of that. Thankyou for sharing. The poor lady. Just one more thing to deal with.
