Chemo: Passed Halfway!!!
Well doesn't time fly... & not necessarily when you're having fun! I've passed the 1/2way point of my chemo adventure (WHOO HOO!!); 3x FEC & 1xTaxatere down, 2xTaxatere to go... this is the day after my first Taxatere, and I must say, how delighted I am to not have any nausea or fatigue!!! Early days I know (there's been much mentioned of the day 4-achey joint pain, so will wait & see!)... thanx to lovely Marianne, my nails sport a gorgeous midnight blue (better Marianne than my Ian me thinks...) to protect the nail-beds from sunlight damage... here's hoping they're protected sufficiently to not come off any time soon, nor at all!!!
I must admit fo feeling somewhat anxious yesterday morning before chemo tho ~ a yummy batch of raspberry & white chocolate muffins helped ease the tension!
Now I must mention how delighted I am to be attending next month's Sussan Women's Fun Run, only I'll be walking; along with 10-or-so fabulously supportive girlfriends!! We'll be walking with the lovely Luci Minogue of under the Team Pink Pilates banner... just the 5km walk will suffice!! Would love to meet any of you en route if you're so inclined:) It's being held on the best possible day for me, the day before my next chemo, so all fingers/ toes crossed I'll be feeling FINE & DANDY. The lure of a post-walk latte might help me along :)
I've been totally supported in my sponsorship too, such fantastic friends & family spurring me on & supporting my walk! It's so touching having people "holding my hand" (metaphorically). Sites like this one also add to the sense of not going through this alone, knowing that there's people out there experiencing the same things, and others who might be having a less easy time than me. Makes me realise how totally fortunate & blessed I am.
I've been sitting on my current bust size for the last couple of months, just getting used to the new girls... my Plastic Surgeon assures me I have another 150ml to go on each side, but I'm not in a hurry... still only wearing body-hugging camisoles. But must get on to something like the genee-bra (?) cos the hotter the weather, the less layers I'll be wanting!!
Well that's about it for the update... hope where-ever you are, the sun's shining:) Jx
