Chemo no. 5 underway!!
Ok so l did say l'd check in tonight if l could.
I was very nervous about this chemo as it is the first of the Paclitaxol, & even though the medical pros have said it's no worse than the AC l was on previously, the majority of people who have actually had it have not had much to say about it that's good.
Mum is here & behaving herself so far, we came into the hospital & the nurse went about accessing my port... once again, it would flush, but no blood...aaargh! Another nurse checked it & said she wasn't happy about the placement of the needle, so it had to come out...thankfully they let me do my emla cream again, 2nd time it went in & flushed & gave blood & l was so happy l cried! I was trying so hard to be brave, but soooo frustrating when things don't work out as they should.
They were monitoring me closely for the first 15min in case there was a reaction, but thankfully nothing. Due to the holdups with the port & waiting for bloodwork, they didn't start the chemo til 7pm ( l was admitted at 1pm !) So lm still hooked up to it now. Luckily l have a private room, so no room mates to contend with!
So fingers crossed it goes ok, l still have the horrible Nulasta injection tomorrow (l hate them!) & the bone pain which l know will follow...but really hoping my body tolerates it ok & they don't have to reduce the dose & increase the number of treatments! But so far, it's ok! Yay!
