Chemo Finished

I've just read over my old blog posts and am surprised on how far I've come.  I've suvived the first 1/2 of my journey... thanks mainly to the support I've received from my fellow 'Pink Ladies'... 

So today (well yesterday) was my last chemo.... 3  rounds of FEC followed by 9 weeks of Taxol... I have a 3 week break before starting 6 weeks of Radium.... It's amazing how easy it is to remember numbers and dates!! I found my lump 5 months ago... 1 April... and to put it midly was scared shxxless.

 I'm so looking forward to getting back to a new normal... whatever that is... time will tell. But first I have to get through Radium which thanks to the helpful blogs of others appears to be a little easier than Chemo.,

In the meantime... I slowly wait for my hair to grow back.. I'm a' fuzz nutt' at the moment and will continue to read other Pink Ladies blog posts... and be as supportive as I can be....

    Hi trina - Congratulations of reaching the end of your Chemo!

    It is good to hear that you have received support from those around you but also the women in the online network.

    Keep us upto date on how you go with Radiotherapy -- as I am sure there will be women out there just like you and your stories with help those to come :-)))

    Get well soon, Mich - hope a weekend in bed does the trick!  Only 3 rads to go - that must be the best feeling!  It has been a long haul, and your cheerfulness and courage have been a real role model.  Keep it up for your new normal, and let us know how you are feeling being home again after next week's treatments.  Big hugs,

    Yahooooooooooy yippppeeeeeeeee party party party time!!!!!!!

    It is such a beautiful beautiful feeling isn't it to finish that bloody chemo.

    I have 3 rads to go and saw the rads onco today and she said my skin is really really good and whatever I am doing keep doing it.  I have been so so lucky with my radiotherapy so I am very pleased about that.  Makes up for my yukky chemo journey.

    I am down with an infection at present so bed rest for me this weekend but I am on medication so hopefully will be right as rain by Monday so I can finish this baby and get back home.  That stirs up a whole other bag of feelings in going home but I will deal with that one as I come to it. 

    Congratulations again girls and best of luck with your radiotherapy, walk in the park compared to the yukky old chemo.  But remember lots of cream, fresh air to the area, be gentle with your skin and no irritations of silky materials and tight bras etc.  It worked for me so far :-)

    That's great news!  Isn't it good to have that milestone behind you.

    We started our journeys together 5 months ago - what a ride.  It has been so organised, and passed so quickly in some ways - and so slowly in others.

    The hints for radio - creams, etc - on this site are brilliant, and it really is so much easier than chemo and takes far less time.  (I have had 3 so far).  All the best with your treatment - it's good to hear you are doing so well.. we are on the home stretch now!
