Chemo Curls looks hot.

Last Sunday was my 2 year anniversary of being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Celebrated the day with dinner and yummy deserts with my immediate family, my two closest friends and their familes. They have been there so much for myself and family.

I thought I should update how I look now, well its been 18 months since I finish chemo and was bald. I had very tight curls but as it is grown longer, it looks really nice. As you can tell from the top part of my head, the hair is straight, so I do say if I cut my hair, I will get straight hair again. :(

So all you lovely ladies going through chemo, I am one lady who likes her curls, most days. I have to say some days they drive me nuts.

Another update on my life, I have started  studying part time at university, just having a little taster to see if I like it. So far I love it. If in the future I change my mind at least I gave it a try. Alot of people think I am weird, when they ask me what do you intend to be, if you finish it?  I reply I dont want a job out of this I already have a job doing all the bookwork for my husband's business. I am fascinated to understand more about peoples. Oh yeah I am studying psychology.

    Congrats on the hair, my post chemo curls are a challenge.  Hair Mousse is my best friend. :)

    Your hair looks lovely Dot!  I wish mine was as long, but I have been having it cut fairly regularly to keep it in good condition and its basically down to my collar.  It has gone back straight now too and I do miss those curls!!

    Good on you for going to Uni!  Hopefully it will lead to something that you really enjoy :)

    Hey Dot

    Congratulations for reaching the 2 year mark and being able to end up with such luxurious locks.  I, like Janet have a head covered in a very light down of salt and pepper coloured hair which so far is straight as a dye but I am grateful to at least have hair growing back.

    Also thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your wonderful story with us.  You give hope to us pink sisters who are still in the journey stage.  You give us hope that there is a future and we can make it whatever we want and for you the future you wanted was to study at University of which are you achieving.  Who knows where this lil venture of yours will take you but you are out there doing what you want to do and loving it and that is all that you can ask for in life.

    I am not sure what my road is at present but I know I definitely got BC for a reason as one, it has introduced me to such inspiring women as yourself and it has made me re-evaluate my life which is a wonderful thing.

    I am wishing you well and that you continue to love your studies and that they take you to whatever heights you aspire to.  It is women like yourself and Tonya that give us the inspiration to keep going so I am sure I am not alone in thanking you.

    Thanks for showing us your hair Dot. I finished my chemo a few weeks ago and all I have is a brown fuzz and a few longer wispy bits. Every morning I look in the mirror hoping it has grown some more and all I see is a turtle! (That's what I look at the moment.)

    So it's good to be reminded that in 18 months I could have beautiful long lustrous locks like yours.

    Good on you for giving uni I go. I don't thinkg it's weird at all to be going without the aim of getting a job from it. Uni is about expanding your horizens, learning new things, broadening your mind and meeting new people, not just getting jobs.  Enjoy it.
