The steroids heightens anxiety symptoms. What you are experiencing is something people with anxiety can get. You might also be sleeping a little lighter presently.
I too recall vividly hearing my mother speak to me and I awoke expecting to see her. I also saw my father in a dream and I spoke with him. I don't know though if this was just me wishing my parents there. ..but I just took it as they were there, and letting me know they were walking beside me through this journey despite being passed. It was very comforting.
