Chemo 3 and 3/4

Today should be my chemo day, but I have a reprieve of another week . YAHOO and big smiles.  So I took my self out and ran some errands and  treated myself to a apple and walnut scroll.

This round, despite the aches and pains from the port removal and pic line, has gone suprising well *she says while knocking on the wooden table*.  The numbness still came but resided faster as did alot of the other symptoms.  I would say I am functioning at 90%.  Sadly the lost 10% still includes some of my taste buds.  However, the long weekend is approaching an I am hoping to catch up with friends and family.

What I have learnt during chemo round 3?

A bald head is a cold head in the middle of the night if your "nightcap" falls off  and it is 3 degrees outside.  Amazing how much insulation hair provides.

There  is still sooo much to read.  Some good, some down right depressing but all contributing to my goal of living a long time after this chemo.  Latest book a lifestyle changer I think.

When reading a new recipe, one should read twice as chemo haze (thats what I'm blaming anyway) makes you skip vital instructions and add the wrong wine at the wrong time.  However it doesnt matter when the dish still turns out yummy.

The youngest person with BC is 10 years old.  The youngest person being treated in Brisbane with TNBC is 16.  This disease is wicked.  No matter how awful I think my life is there are alot of people who are worse off than me.

I love my Kobo.

I love iview on the ABC.

I love that I can sleep soundly at the moment.

I don't like that I cry at the drop of a hat.  I am calling them "moments" as they pass just like my hot flushes.  All to do with the changes in my body I suppose.

Facebook is filled with inane games that can fill your day and waste hours of your life if you let them, but there are some that require concentration and others that can make you laugh.  Plus neices and nephews find them an easy way to stay in touch and talk to you.

I am knitting like a demon.  Only squares for the blankets but I have learnt some new patterns.  When I drop a stitch or it goes haywire I remember what my neice said, "Its all part of the story, just leave the booboos in ".  So someone is going to get some holey booboo squares in their blanket. :)

My skin is more fragile as the weeks pass and I am sure I could pour a bucket of sorbolene on myself every night and it would still be dry the next morning.  And I am growing pale.

Anyway, onwards I go.  Juicing like a madman and trying to build myself up before they zap me again.
