Chemo - I will return to normal one day
I haven't dropped off the face of the earth (although it did take me 5 mins to work out why I couldnt' post). I'm on Day 7 of the 1st AC chemo - not as bad as I dreaded but not as good as i hoped. I have no idea how anyone can manage to work on it. I'm surviving - just. The Lorazepam (???) or whatever has been great cos not only do I stop feeling sick, it knocks me out for hours. I would just so like to be me for a while/ Can't really post anyomore just saying hi.

- jennyssMemberDear @Sister, Yay for feeling hungry . You will know when you can expect to flake out next time. ! Best wishes for your chemo rounds.
- MollygirlMemberYay @Sister, go you!!! So, so glad you are feeling brighter. Just don't overdo things!!! And absolutely yes, eat what you can. Bacon and eggs were my go to when I could - protein and fats :)
hugs. Xx - SisterMemberNow you're making me hungry...I love lentil soup. Maybe that should be the next thing I cook up for the freezer.
- SoldierCrabMemberShout or Scream but do know the paper hole punch never answers you ;)
- SoldierCrabMember@Sister my Breast Care nurse said eat whatever you can during this time if it that is Junk so be it ....
I ate home made lentil soup and pumpkin soup pureed for nearly 4 months only thing I could taste and not throw up. - SisterMemberNow, I'm trying to sort all my cancer stuff that has been scattered for the last week and draw up some sort of planner with appointments and chemo countdowns so that I can possibly have some idea of how I'm likely to be feeling at certain times. Do you think that I can find a hole punch anywhere? With stationery obsessed kids and partner, there must be at least 10 floating around this house but NOT WHERE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!! Does that sound shouty enough?
- SisterMemberI can't believe how much difference a day can make. Wednesday, I could barely focus. I got through all of yesterday without resorting to bed and even coped (just) with a family get-together. And I've just scoffed home made bread with plum jam - not on any recommended dietary list but oh, it was good!
- MollygirlMemberThat's a little step forward @Sister, well done. It's just a matter of what you can when you can. Hang in there. I know it's seems like forever but I promise you it will all come to an end. Keep an eye on that crack of light at the end of the tunnel. Sleep well!! Xx
- LMK74Member@Sister, jellyfish is a great way to describe how gross ac chemo is. After my very first ac the day after i could barely stand up for more than a few minutes at a time. The first was the worst for me with round 2 and three not as bad. The fourth however took all the energy i had which was very little and took about 4 weeks for some energy to return. Lie on your bed and watch Netflix all day lol. I've never spent so much time on my bed as i did going through chemo. You will get there.
Xo - SisterMemberNot feeling brilliant but think I may have turned a corner (maybe a slight veer) with Day 8. I can talk to people and string some thoughts together (ate half a vanilla slice!!! who cares if it was followed immediately by a mad dash). I managed to watch an episode of "Shetland" and understand it (even the accents - mostly). I've described myself over the last few days as a vacuous jellyfish - no spine to hold myself up with and no thoughts in my head. I haven't reached for the Lorizapam today. Why can't we just be knocked out for the worst of it? I envisage a chemo suite where we can all lay down, drugged to the gills until the worst has past.
