Today I went to have genetic testing for the CHEK2 gene mutation. Simply put the CHEK2 gene regulates cell division. If it's mutated the cells go on dividing and, well, cancer. It's also linked to ...
@kmakm Hi Kate, you could say we've been feasting our eyes on that scenery for over 20 years...that's how long we have been going there for holidays and looking into the real estate agents windows...dangerous that! We bought our home in 2015 with plans to extend so we can take in the view from inside our home as well as outside. In winter in looks stunning with all the hills and mountains covered in snow and in summer you can cool off in the river. When Fred decides he's retiring we're moving, though the extension will have to be done first. We'll always have a Melbourne base for family, shows, medical stuff though we are lucky to have a full time med clinic up there as well as a hospital, mainly because of Falls Creek and Hotham. Too many people having accidents in winter! Our eldest daughter is up there regularly despite the 4 hour drive. It seems to get shorter the more we go up and we're up there every month. This is the Kiewa valley in winter 2018 stretching from Mt Bogong on the left to Hotham/Feathertop on the right. It was a spectacular season. There are still patches of snow on Bogong. I went to see my exercise physiologist recently just to make sure i was on track with what i am doing and came away with a new 4 month rotation of gym exercises. It was really good touching base after 6 months. I'm still enjoying gym and it has helped keep my body moving although it's not the fix i thought it would be in easing the joint and muscle issues caused by that lovely drug. But i keep reminding myself what state I'd be in if i didn't do it...the word decrepit comes to mind! Should have been to gym roday but i figured 4 hours in mum's garden yesterday was enough of a workout and my hands are not in the best shape at the moment. Lunch beckons and then some embroidery. Keep well, love Cath
