Checkups
Hello ladies!!!!!Just thought I would post an update on what I have been doing for myself.Well I took myself off for a full blood count. My oncologist didn't request it,but I thought that I would feel ...
Hi Blizz, this is from the notes she gave me.
""""The breasts and ovaries are two of the main storage and utilization sites for iodine ouside of the thyroid gland. A deficiency in iodine can alter both the structure and function of these two essential components of a wonans body. In the ovaries, an iodine deficiency causes a change in the normal production of oestrogens by causing an increase in oestrogen production to potentially dangerous levels. Oestrogen, like all hormones, needs to be in proper balance with not too much or too little in order for the body to function properly. The increased ovarian production of oestrogens leads to a corresponding increased breast sensitivity to oestrogen which can lead to harmful breast tissue changes.
In breast cancer iodine when sufficient can also induce death of the cancer cells. It has this potential because of it's role in stabilizing lipids in cells and because of its role in regulating antioxidant activity. ""
She mentioned quite a few things that I didn't know like, we have 3 forms of oestrogen, and how AI's stops the one that causes cancer.
I also remember reading that in Japan they have the highest iodine diet and lowest breast cancer rate, so it has got to make one think? If you are interested in the notes she gave me I am happy to email them to you. These include her recommendations.
