Hi Catherine,
I'm in the middle of my chemo and on a different schedule to you but I've had very few side effects. I've had quite a bit of hair loss but in hindsight I probably didn't need to shave it. I've even got some new stuff growing! Mostly I just feel tired for the first week and very windy! No nausea or vomiting and I'm eating and sleeping well.
My oncologist is very interested in why I've had so few side effects. It's possible that my high omega 3 diet has helped and I've found research that says it can minimise the effects of chemotherapy. Certainly worth a try.
I'm putting hemp seed on my breakfast every morning. It's sold in Australia with a warning that says something like "Not for human consumption in Australia. Must be purchased on the condition that it is not to be consumed, or will be consumed in a jurisdiction where human consumption of hemp seed it legal." I've been told that the hold up with getting it approved is to do with police concerns over drug testing, but this isn't cannabis and it doesn't have THC in it (the stuff that gets you high). It's legally consumed all over the world and is very high in omega 3.
Of course if you don't want to use hemp seed, there's fish, flax seed, grass fed meat and omega 3 eggs. There's also fish oil supplements but I prefer to get my nutrition through food.
Anyway, I thought I'd share this because I know that the side effects for some people can be so bad. I hope it's useful.
