What can I say?? Hang in there Janey, you poor girl. Even if the x-ray is negative they may still be cracked. I am speaking from experience. I fractured mine on a ride at the show last year. It was one of those whizzy things, used to be called the cha-cha back in the day. Anyway I was on it with my daughter and every time we spun around she slammed into me. The poor darling thinking she was being nice kept moving away and then another spin and slam!! When we got off I jokingly said to my husband I think I broke a rib. Well a few days later I was at the Physio for a back massage I could not lie on my front. My X-Ray came back all clear but I was in pain for a long time afterwards. Anyway 6 or 7 months later I had a bone scan as I had back pain. My surgeon looking at the bone scan said oh everything is fine except for the healing rib fractures!!!! They were in exactly that spot!! When I told him the X-Ray was normal he said they often don't show up until they start to heal. I am very close to having osteoporosis due to chemo induced early menopause, also the fractures are in the area where I had radiation so double whammy. No more show rides for me. I guess at 51 I should be growing up. I hope the picture of this old girl on a show ride gives you a chuckle as you enjoy your cup of tea on the balcony.
Hugs to you.
