I'm about to have my 5th cycle of chemo and like you, have dreadful nausea with it, among other side effects. With the changes they have made over the last 4 cycles it has improved substantially but it is still pretty awful. The further it goes on, the more anxious I become. Each cycle has been different as something seems to get changed each time. My brother and a girlfriend come to chemo with me and the rule is we wear something different on our heads each time. Usually something silly. My girlfriend whips up something yummy for morning tea for everyone on the day ward which she passes round on the day. We have a picnic lunch and laugh and smile and try to bring a smile to others faces. It's such a nice feeling when another patient says you've made their day. I have to try to make something positive out of something so negative. I too generally dress up for chemo day. There have been many positives with cancer, least of all realising how important you are to others. I never realised this. (Sounds silly I know but it's true) it's very hard to keep these positives upper most in your mind when you are being ravaged by chemo. The good news is, we will get through chemo and we will be better and stronger for having gone through it. We need to take each day as it comes. Hang in there, Karen xoxox
