Bugger

Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water (quote from Jaws the move) The shark warning siren has gone off again.

I saw my rural GP just yesterday and she ordered some test because I was complaining of a soreness in my back. Today I get a 3.00pm phone call saying "the Doctor would like to see you at 5.00pm today.

The test has revealed lesions in my spine when the Dr thought she would get a pinched nerve or disk bulge report. No No No.

I got off the breast  merry go around in 2005 looks like I am set to get back on it again.. Oh crap

  • Hi,

Can't help with info but can sympathise with your situation. Have been on cancer trip of one kind or another for a while now. The radiation that cured my thyroid cancer has given me breast cancer so having a mastectomy - can't have radiation again because have already had what they consider a "huge dose".

Keep fighting - you will get through this too - the alternative isn't an option!

  • I'm sure you'll be able to do some physical activity if mobility isn't an issue. I had to give up my gym classes. I'm oestragen positive. I finished chemo in April of this year. So far no new tumours and 2o per cent shrinkage in liver tumours. Femera is holding things at bay for now. Joint pain is an ongoing issue but I also have arthritis. Sue
  • Hi Sue, and thanks for sharing your medication regime with me. Was your primary HER + or -

From what I read the triple negs get a raw deal when it comes to mets. I do so want to be able to play tennis again. Do you think I am being over ambitious?

  • Gullygold welcome to the club that nobody wants to be a part of. I had Abraxane and radiotherapy to treat the mets in my spine. I went from not being able to walk because of tumours pressing on my spine to getting my mobility back, albeit I do have ongoing back pain but am off all strong pain killers. I also take Zometa once a month and Femera daily. There is great information and support on this site in the secondary breast cancer section. Sue, Elwood
  • OK this totally sucks.  We all think we're off the BC merry go round but there is always a small one whirling around in the back of the mind.  Good luck buddy
