Dear Kazza4450,
I was diagnosed with similar breast cancer in Feb this year. Tell your Mum that the don't seem to do as many mastectomy's now, I had a lumpectomy in March, and will finish radiation on Friday, then I will start hormone therapy. It is all very hard to take, but, they found it and our survival is so much better than what it was even 10 years ago. I read the other day that now they are advising chemo first to shrink the cancer, then surgery, then radiation, then hormone therapy, this way they can save as much breast as possible. Breast cancer effects your self esteem, in so many ways. I decided not to have the chemo. and go ahead with the rest of the treatment, as they gave me the option. Most important thing is to let your body heal, when you need rest, just do it, the more you are rested the better your body is for the next round of treatment.
Take care, and dont allow this to take your enjoyment in life, because we need to have positive things in our life.
