Breast Reconstruction Resource

I think it's a great place for women to connect, help make decisions and share their experiences of breast reconstruction through not only words but also pictures.

Hi Jo,

I am not a Breast Care Nurse. I am the facilitator of the 'Breast Reconstruction' online group here on BCNA's website. This group has been active since July 2013 and we have more than 100 members. I am adding people nearly everyday. The membership is made up of ladies sharing their stories, many with images, and ladies seeking information, support and advice.

There are stories of most reconstruction procedures including Lat Dorsi, TRAM, DIEP and implants. There is very informative discussions around many issues that we face with breast reconstruction. It is turning out to be a valuable live resource for the many ladies who are members. I am also Community Liaison with BCNA and have been trying to promote this Breast Reconstruction blog to reach all women contemplating this significant and emotional surgery.

So far I have chatted to my GP and the my Breast Care Nurse Stephanie Foster (Central Coast NSW). I am working on developing a flyer for BCN's to give to women to assist them to find the blog and request membership. I have just discovered that your group is here and am wondering if you would be interested to promote the Breast Reconstruction group blog.

My thoughts are that your members might see the value in this resource and might refer interested ladies to it. I have recently added Stephanie to the Breast Reconstruction blog so she can see what it is all about and has a better idea of how she might refer ladies to it. I would be happy to have you join also if you would like a closer look. This is such a great resource for women like me and the many ladies out there who really want to see photos of real australian women who have undergone these procedures and to be able to connect with them online is just so wonderfully helpful. I hope you see how special this resource is and pass on the message to your colleagues.

You will be doing such a huge favour to women everywhere who are contemplating this surgery.
