Anything that is causing you concern is worth checking further. Personally ‘pain is normal’ strikes me as a not helpful fob off - in what circumstances, for how long, and so forth. It may well be nerve related but you will be much happier knowing for sure. Perhaps your actual surgeon? Best wishes.
