It's certainly prohibitive for me @Romla.

I wonder if it's tax deductible?  :) After all, cancer's a full-time job, sometimes.

On the Informd website on the conference registration page whilst consumers are invited the prices are prohibitive - early bird registration is $250 for example.

Hi again @Mikey! My breast density story is on the BCNA's page on this subject. I have a particular interest and as I'm in Melbourne, would love to attend the conference to hear you speak. Do you know if that's possible? I've been to their website and it looks like medical personnel only.

Hi folk, I am Mike Shephard, husband of Jean (JeanBean on this forum). It's fair to say that we were quite peed off at not being informed about breast density and we are now advocates for change to that policy. It was great to meet some of you at the Adelaide workshop where I presented a paper 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell - the breast density secret that changed our lives (but not in a good way)' - available on the INFORMD website. We were very grateful for the opportunity to do that - so thanks to INFORMD and BCNA. Will also be presenting at the Melbourne conference on 10 October from the patient viewpoint. Thank you for your post and for continuing this discussion.  That is interesting information re SonoCiné AWBUS (Automated Whole Breast Ultrasound) by Dr Kelly.  As you all know, BCNA is continuing to raise awareness of breast cancer risks in women with dense breasts.  As mentioned on our website, if you are worried about your breast density please speak with your Doctor regarding the most suitable options for you.  See thread below for more information

For those interested there is an Australian organisation actively promoting the need to know about breast density on which Wendy Ingman sits.Its called informd.org.au

@arpie  Agreed  that the WA letter should explain why it’s an issue but guess govt does not want financial responsibity for further investigation so pushing people back to their GPs.
