Hi Kath,
What are your thoughts on reconstruction at the same time as a mastectomy? I've just been diagnosed with a recurrence in the same breast two years after a Lumpectomy in 2009. I will have a double mastectomy early June but I am really considering this. I have bone scans and MRIs this week to see if it has spread. If the cancer has, I won't bother, but hopefully it won't have, although is Grade 3 Invasive and Hormone Rceptor negative.
I'm devastated as I really thought I was cured and had I known there was a chance of this happening I would have gone for the mastectomy first tiem around!!!
Anyone else have thoughts? (who have perhaps had a recurrence?) I have posted a new blog on this topic.
