BRCA gene mutation

Hi has anyone been diagnosed with BC because of a BRAC gene mutation. I have BRAC1 mutation with no family history.

Would be good to hear from others around Australia, possibly in Sydney or NSW.

It seems that having triple neg is rare enough, but unfortunately having a gene mutation is even rarer. I thought that having one genetic problem was enough (adrenal insufficiency) now I find out I have BRAC too.

I must have bad genes that have somehow skipped the rest of my family!

  • Goodluck LIz in your persuit to find some answers, thinking of you xo

  • No worries, I think it's natural when you see a search field to think it might only search the website pages, rather than include blog posts too!

  • Hi Di,

Thanks for that. I didn't think to do a search beforehand. It's an interesting read.

  • Hi Liz -- I know there's a few members who've posted about BRCA.  I did a quick search, and here's the results I found: http://www.bcna.org.au/search/node/brca.

To do your own search, just scroll up to the top of the page and type your search words into the search bar (it's just above the main navigation where it says "start your search here").

When the results come back, just look on the right side and it will tell you if each one is a website page, or a blog post.

    Hope that helps

    ~Di :)
