Hey Nellie, I didn't need any radiation but did have a single mastectomy with immediate recon. My surgeon told me that there had been a protocol bought in for the public system that surgery to the second breast to match it to the reconstructed breast would be performed approx 2 years after the first surgery. I am on the hospital list to have my operation some time before June - and June is the 2 year mark. This also allows for implants to soften and drop so the surgeon can see if there are any dents, areas that need filling. I have a pocket underneath my implant that she wants to fill with the fat graft and don't know if she is planning on doing any around the implant but will find out when I get my call up for hospital. And can totally understand the two oranges. ;)
