bone pain

gee during the last month my bone pain in my pelvis has been extremely bad, hope this isn't a sign that its moving, probably active again? Panadol dosen't  do much, have to wait until I eat to take ibroprufen< I'm on 400 ml tabs. seem to be the only one that helps. Endone and all of those type just make me so sick throw up for days. So they are out.  My oncologist said I might have to go on a patch ( a low dose one to start) has any one else had these and are they any good.

  • i've been on Arimidex for a year had no side affects that are significant watery eyes maybe,  and have monthly infusion of pamidranate,  to strengthen my bones. I did go 8 1/2 years from my original breast cancer diagnosis til it went to my pelvis . My legs ache terribly during the night, but have had this ever since chemo in 2002 had AC T.   have had two separate rounds of radiotherapy on my hip the last year, one lot in Feb, the other in July. I can have no more on that site .

  • I will go as long as I can with out resorting to stronger drugs,I hope, Iimight try panadol osteo next, instead of just panamax.

  • When 1st diagnosed and had severe shoulder pain, I used fentanyl patches which I found very benifical and had better over all cover. I would change them a little earlier as they wore off. What does your oncologist say about your increasing pain?

  • Pam. I was on tramadol (slow & fast release) for osteoarthritis but well before I started chemo was changed over to Norspan 20mg because I was over throwing things done my throat all the time; but I still had hip pain from the neulasta shots each time which increased towards the end. I think the patches really work for my arthritis & I guess they helped the pain from the neulasta but I sometimes top them up with panadol osteo if I need something for breakthrough pain.
