Hazel,the injection is Denosumab.When I was diagnosed with advanced osteo earlier this year,I was put onto this injection 6 monthly.I was very nervous,as the side effects(surprise,surprise what's new! ) read like a horror story.The specialist told me that the main thing to do,before you get the first needle,is to make sure that your teeth are all healthy.There is a quite rare condition that can affect your jaw,if you need to have dental surgery while on the drug.Another lady on the blog has this needle,and she has had no problem.I am almost due my second one,and I have had NO side effects at all.I also try to have 1200 mg of calcium each day(from food) and take a Vit.
