Body hair stopped growing 2yrs post treatment? Maybe Pfizer side affect?

Has anyone experienced this & did it start to re-grow? Was your head hair affected?
I have no idea what has caused this to happen as I finished treatment Nov 2019.
My GP said that chemo can do weird things for a long time. I will ask my oncologist at my next appointment but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
I had a slight suspicion that the Pfizer vaccine may have caused my body to react this was as it felt like I was back on chemo for the week after my 1st shot. The 2nd was better. It may be just a coincidence re the Pfizer?

  • The growth on the body parts seems to slow with age!  As to my head of hair, always very fine and an indicator of my health, when unwell the hair is flat and yuk!
Now I find my hair is still fine but lots of it and a slight curl has started......
Hopefully your body is still adjusting after all you've been through
    Take care

  • Happy Birthday @Scaredycat .. hope you've had a great day.

I didn't have chemo - just the surgery, rads & tabs ... and my underarm hair definitely went AWOL for the best part of a couple of years.

All the best for your ongoing treatment xx

  • Short can also give the appearance of more volume. See how things are in a few weeks, it’ll probably all settle down.
  • Thank you.
I don’t mind not having to shave under my arms etc but am worried re my head hair as it’s naturally very fine. I was trying to grow it but think I should just settle for shorter.
I thought of the Pfizer today as I cannot remember when I last shaved under my armpits and the reaction at the time wasn’t great. It’s probably nothing to do with it.

We naturally get nervous about hair. My head hair started shedding - not coming out noticeably but much more stray hairs than previously - a year after chemo. Several consultations later we concluded that my shedding pattern had simply changed - I shed very little hair, or at least that I could see, before chemo. It’s been perfectly stable since, I just shed a bit more than I used to. My body hair has certainly slowed if not stopped but I am pretty sure that’s age! Your GP may be able to advise if Pfizer has an effect on hair but I’d agree that chemo changes to hair can take years to fully adjust. Best wishes.
