Thank you Jo. Yes I feel very confident in this surgeon. He actually sat and talked "to" me not "at" me, and appeared genuinely concerned for my overall well-being. He treated me like a person, not a number which was lovely. He took his time and spoke in layman's terms, and encouraged me to ask questions. He was very confident in being able to do both procedures and was adamant that the biopsy be done as soon as possible. He said "Whenever cancer is involved I move very quickly on things. You've waited long enough Celeste and I know the waiting must be very stressful for you, so let's get this out the way as quickly as we can! I want to make sure we have a 100% correct diagnosis so that you can get the best possible treatment to help with your recovery". Well I shook his hand and I left feeling like I was his most important patient in the world.....that's gotta be a good sign!!!
Emotionally I think I am turning a corner. With the help and support of all the lovely ladies on this site, my psychologist and good friends and family I feel myself getting stronger everyday. I know there will be a tough road ahead but I am feeling more ready for the challenge everyday!
My daughter turned 13 in May this year. She has struggled at times emotionally which is to be expected. She doesn't see her father and has no brothers and sisters (or cousins on my side of the family) so I am her world....she worries about me and what will happen to her if I dont make it through. We have a very open, honest and close relationship, so she is able to talk to me about all her fears and so far I've been able to address them successfully. Its so hard watching her 'suffer' for me...
Thanks for your best wishes Jo.
Hugs Celeste xx
