I have decided on Breast conserving treatment. As radiation was likely even with a mastectomy, becasue of the size of the orginal cancer, it seemed just as sensible to bave BCT. As I am quite big breasted, I am having a bilateral wide excison and reduction. I am looking forward to going from a G cup to a B/C cup. At least I will be able to buy bras more easily.
Surgery is on 9th January, but I have been really battling a severe lung infection for over 2 weeks now. It is slowly resolving so surgery still looks on the card. 4-5 weeks later the radiation starts, still on Herceptin until September. I am not sure when the tamoxifan starts ( ER+ and PR + as well) .
But my hair is just starting to grow back, until the anesthetic affects it and the tamoxifen. At least that is minor al long as I am healthy and alive to see my grandchildren gow up.
