BC, Surgery, Chemo & Baby

Hi All

This journey we are all on is not for the faint hearted. When I was diagnosed I was 26wks pregnant. It was Xmas. I had a masectomy within a week of diagnosis and then straight into AC chemo.

After 3 rounds I was induced at 36 weeks (so chemo didnt run into "delivery" time) .... and I thought I would just post some happiness here. Introducing Cooper Roy.... he makes me smile :)

Chemo restarts next week, one more AC round to go...then Taxol/Herceptin starts, but I have my little man to cheer me through it.

Amazingly he is perfect and apart from being early he seems completely unaffected by all that is going on.

  • Thanks Christine. My little man has 2 adoring brothers. I now have 3 boys under 6 and full-on is one to describe it!

They give me a wonderful distraction and every reason to face this fight head-on!

I'm glad your daughter won her battle - it is a long journey but we can get through it! - although tiring my children are a wonderful reminder of all there is to fight for!

  • He is adorable, so glad to hear of his safe arrival and that he was not impacted by everything that was going on. Best of luck with the resumption of your chemo.

  • Awww isn't he just the most perfect and lucky little fella?XXX

  • He is perfect, Emma. Congratulations! They say every cloud has a silver lining and Cooper Roy will help you find the strength to get through the rest of your treatment.

I have a friend who had a son mid treatment for bc 21 years ago. He has grown up a healthy, strong young man and my friend is enjoying life and has a very successful business. Life after bc can be very good. Wishing you all the best for the rest of your treatment. Take care and enjoy the good times with Cooper and the rest of your family. Deanne xxx
