BALD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi there, I didn't bother with a wig, but found a great seller on e-bay, called 'Headthreads' that made great coverings out of stretchy fabric that were really easy to put on, and came in a heap of different colours. They also have other types of beanies and soft coverings-.

I found that not nearly as many people took a second look at me as I thought they would! 

Oh, and I couldn't wait for my hair to grow back, but am cursing the mop of curls on my head that I can't do a thing with!!

Yeh i'm not normally without a hat or scarf unless it's my hubby, kids or immediate family. Still feels abit weird...

That's great of your aunty, definitely handy!! There's a site Bedazzled Hair (or something like that, can't remember exactly sorry) and they had some really lovely things too. I've bought most of mine from little stalls at the local shops which has been handy and quite cheap too :)

Im adjusting to the new look! I dont spend much time with out my hats on around strangers though! I borrowed a wig from my cancer centres library, it look nice but is a bit itchy so I think Im happy without it!

My great aunt has crocheted some wondeful hats for me I love them! Been looking at a couple of websites that sell lovely scarves. Hat house and hat show.

I too did the shave last week. My hair was coming out in clumps for a couple weeks but there was still abit left, it was just very thin and made me look sick. So i got my hubby to shave it all off, he also did his and my eldest son wanted his done as well 'so he would look like Mummy n Daddy' pretty cute from a 3 year old :) so my 1 year old son has more hair than us 3 put together hehe I have to admit i felt heaps better once it was gone but that's probably because i took a couple weeks to do it from when it first started to fall out. I'm enjoying trying the different scarves and hats now. I haven't gone near wigs yet, not sure if i will bother. Are you going to get any wigs? Hope you've adjusted to the bald look :)

I was exactly the same as you. My hair started falling out from day 12 after my first cylce and by day 14 it was really thin so I decided to go the head shave. My son have fun when he discovered that when he pulled my hair it came out in big clumps. I think he speed up the process of hair loss. I then got a really soft bum fluff thin white covering on my head which stayed with me through the rest of my chemo. I found the hair loss one of the hardest things to deal with as I looked like I had cancer and in my eyes a freak and everytime I went out I thought people were staring at me which in some cases they were. I eventually got used to it though I did not feel very attractive. Going to the Look Good Feel Good session run by the cancer council helped. I have now been finished chemo for 2 months and am starting to get a nice covering of hair on my head and soon I wont have to wear hats or that wig anymore. Looking forward to that.

Im in the process of my own head scarfs, biggest problem was choosing fabric! I settled for a 'plain'  colour first up but will get adventurous with my next few and make some which will be sure to brighten my days!!!

Hi, I also shaved down to a number 3 when I started to lose all my hair. That was back in February. I had 4 cycles of chemo and the last one finished at the end of March. My hair started to come back about 8 weeks later, and today I went and had my first hair trim. I didn't need a shampoo or blow dry ( LOL), but it was very fine a wispy, and I wanted to get the fluffy bits removed. Perhaps I should have done this weeks ago, but I was so excited to have hair again, that I couldn't bring myself to have it cut. Today I had a good cm removed and it looks so much better. I will do the same in another 6 weeks, and hopefully by November I won't even need my wig.
