Bald Week

Recently before Xmas Tanya and friends put their bald pictures up, they talk about a bald week. I promise I would put my bald picture up.

I lost the majority of my hair on Monday 10th January. I decided I would let my hair fall out naturally rather, than shave.  Don't know if I would do this again.  The moulting of my hair on the floor and furniture and bed drove me nuts.

In the end so much was falling out I let the two little ones pull it out with their hands, it was just basically hanging there.  Not before they created a mohawk for me. Thank god they pulled the rest out. Lol.

  • Thank you girls Lousie and Christine for showing your bald heads.  It has made me laugh again.  Yes I have started losing elsewhere as well  (Pubs) I have not loss any eyebrows or eyelashes yet.  Except have not had to pluck eyebrows since before Christmas or do my legs. Thats a bonus.  That I would like to keep.

Thanks to all you girls for saying I look so young.  Maybe that picture does do me justice.   When I look in the mirror, I don't feel that way.  Sometimes I have forgotten then kind of scare myself when I see my reflection. LOL.

I have to tell you a funny story. We live next door to a beautiful Indian family.  I was out in the driveway about to go to the local shops and I was wearing one of those cancer turban hat things on my head. The neighbour's  young  daughter was out in the yard and greeted me.  Did not think much. Next day saw the neighbour and he started laughing.  He explained to me yesterday his daughter thought I was going to a wedding. Now he realize she saw my turban.  Well I think it is funny and so sweet.

  • hi  Dot and Louise i am not just saying this, but bald is beautiful in the case of you two, thank you for putting the photos up, one day when you're hair is all back, we should add bald photo and hair photos and have a wee game of match the baldies, we all look so different without hair,

so look forward to the curls photo next lol, and for all you others going through the chemo/losing hair thing, remember to take photos even if you hate looking at yourself, think of it as a look, you will never hopefully do again, and grab the moment with a camera, lol,

  • Hi - don't think I can face putting a picture of my "nude nut" on the web..well done to those that have, however the Bald Week is kind of where we are at in life!

Like Chrissy, mine was gone by day 18, 8 days prior had the "really short cut" but by day 18 the shaver came out as I was moulting every where and it became easier to deal with.  After 4 treatments of AC, the eye brows and lashes have al but gone (no longer can put a smidge of mascara on and have resorted to the brow pencil -never thought I would do that, but helps with the "look good feel better" mantra!  Oh and of course the "brazalian" effect has been around for a while.....now know why I've never bothered!

    cheers ...will consider a photo.....

  • I started loosing my hair 17 days after my first chemo FEC. I finally got my hubby to clip it all off as it was driving me mad also ..just like you. Hair everywhere. I feel much better now and Bald week sounds great to me. I had my 2nd lot of chemo 14th Jan and that sped things up a lot.

My hubby is also bald and now we look like twins. I still have eyebrowns and eyelashes, pubs. Not sure how long that will last.

By the way you do look younger.

Stay happy and know we are all thinking of you.
