I had my hair cut short before I started chemo but even so it made a bit of a mess when it started falling out. I got my partner to use the clippers on it initially, but I was still shedding hair all over the place. Three days later I asked him to shave it off. The scary part was that he took great pleasure in it and just recently asked if I might need my hair clipper so it is all the same lenghth now it is growing back.
Like Tonya I have kept my scalp covered and if I am outside inthe garden I try and use sunscreen so my scalp has remained pretty fair. I guess you could always use fake tan to get a bit of colour.
It is nice to know that others have had similar experiences and you are not alone.
