I feel better then I feel bad. But thats all part of it I guess. 

Ill be glad when my first chemo is over. That bit of the unknown is scarying the pants off me. Hopefully I can sail through with not alot of SE's :-/

I bought a fringe and other bits and bobs from www.headcovers.com. I bought a firey red fringe and the head band that it can velcro too. I also bought sleep hats, a turban and scarves. I ordered last Sunday from the USA and they were delivered to my door Thursday. Unreal service!

I hope your fluid goes down after tomorow. nothing worse than so many pokes and prods :(

Thanks for the cost info and the chicks in pink bizzo as well.  I might ask the Cancer Council about them.  I don't have a breast care nurse.  The one I saw was the doctors wife and she hasn't asked after me once.  Just sold me a bra, stuffed literature into my hands and said seeya. 

Actually I will be at my surgeons tomorrow for fluid aspiration so I might ask then. 

I'm over being afraid of all this stuff (until I get closer to chemo).  Now I'm just annoyed at the medical profession in general and the government for allowing the medical profession to become overworked and therefore unable to provide the care that cancer patients should have.  (sorry, hopping down from my soapbox now and becoming human again)

My mother was telling me that someone she knew bought a fringe.  Just a fringe.  She said wigs are hot to wear so she would get a scarf or a hat and pin the fringe to the edge of it at the front and go out like that.  I'm more worried about getting cold during chemo when I have no hair.  I'm going to have to find some really cool beanies to wear.  I can't hold my body heat in really cold air con for long periods.  So blanket, dressing gown, slippers and beanie will be the order of the day.

Its the unknown that is so frightening. But reading all the stories of you all getting to other side helps me realise I to will get to the other side.

I'm not going to go wig shopping until I've seen the oncologist so end of this month.  Were the wigs expensive?  Yes, I know the scared days.  I have three good days then a bad day.  My son says that if I'm allowed time to think I head for depressive thoughts then upset myself so I'm not allowed time to think, I have to "do" as much as I'm capable of.  Thanks for the Pac Fair hint.  Is that where Starkles is?  Bundall is closer so I will look at both.

You need a chemo bag?  Are you staying overnight?  Or are you just taking book and iPod and tissues etc?

Fluid is building and I'm off to the surgeon's rooms at lunchtime tomorrow to have it drained.  It's annoying more than anything but it stabs me if I turn the wrong way.  I'm sure my GP could have done it but the surgeon wants to see it.  Next time I WILL go to my GP.

So let me know how the chemo goes, I'm all ears (actually eyes) here to see how you cope.  Have you been given anti nausea tablets to take prior and after?

I agree with Dianne Jodie. I had stage two bc in 2010. I had a mastectomy, 18 lymph nodes were cancerous when they did the axillary clearance. I had the TAC chemo, then 6 weeks radiation. I am now back at work, my hair is now long! Yes things have changed a little but I think that's life. On tamxofin now. Treatment is so good these days! And improving ALL the time! Being scared out of your wits is so normal btw. It is such a shock initially! I had many melt downs! You can do it, you just do.
