bad hair day!

I've been pretty lucky so far after in not having many side effects from the chemo, but the hair loss is something else. I have long very thick hair and it has formed into massive mesh like knots. I put some conditioner on it and now it feels itchy.  My hair has been coming out (though not in clumps yet) even when I touch the ends lightly with my fingers.I'm getting my haircut today - I think I will get a short cut due to the knots. I probably should have had it cut a few days ago before all this started. I don't suit short hair so I think I'll buy a ponytail hairpiece & hopefully my fringe will last a bit longer. Then I'll see about it getting it shaved. Fun, fun, fun...

I also had a very small open wound where a stitch came apart where I had surgery, but I have been giving a dressing and antibiotics and it should clear up soon.

My 2nd chemo is next Friday 17 Feb. I'm hoping it goes as smoothly as the first.

  • I personally didn't wear much of my Wig, but having it around helps with a bad hair day feelings.

I organise a few good friends to do my wig shopping with me before my chemo starts.   So on bad hair day, I just put my hair (wig) on to help me emotionally ..
