Back muscle pain after chemo

Ladies, I am hoping you can help me. I had lumpectomy, mastectomy , 3 x fec, 3 x tax, and due to start rads in a weeks time. My question is since I finished my last tax 3 weeks ago I have been having severe back muscle pain. It is so bad I can't walk or stand without wanting to cry Has anyone else had this type of pain after chemo is done. I had the usual bone pain etc from tax during my treatment but nothing like this.

  • We tend to think every pain or problem we have must be something to do with treatment but sometimes it can be unrelated. Maybe you have hurt your back and need to have some physio or a massage to relieve it? I know my back can get terribly sore if I sit the wrong way or twist a bit at the wrong moment. Having chemo we tend to be very tense and this can result in pain too. Muscle aches can be a side affect but some physio or a massage would probably help. It would be good to get it sorted before radiotherapy starts as the radio 'beds' are not going to do your back any favours. Hope you can get some help to relieve it quickly. Take care. Deanne xxx
