Back for another scan. Is it or isn’t it
My 2nd round of blood test and a bone scan tomorrow the time has certainly dragged since the question first reared it’s ugly head mets or arthritis or both. Have to wait a full week for results. Going to be the longest week
will post the results when I get them.
In the meantime I’ll keep amusing myself with Friday funnies and night howls during the long night I’ve been experiencing

- @arpie. I didnt show any arthritis prior to treatment at the scan when i finished still no mention of arthritis
the longer i was on the anestrozel the worse the joint aches and bone ache got. Now on tamoxifen most of the ache is gone just stiff and hot flushes like crazy and seem to be more lethargic
interesting though - Hmmmm .... I wonder if they’ve ever done a study on women with arthritis going on to develop BC vs those without arthritis? Just a thought!
- It can be such relief to find out it's arthritis. I know I was with mine. still shitty.
- It's so frustrating that aches and pains can have so many different outcomes.
The arthritis discomfort is not good however sounds like, all things considered, it's a reasonable outcome.
Hopefully that sewing room will become your go to room to relax and create.

this site has been my sanity since i joined. - Hopefully it is just arthritis @cranky_granny - as that is what a lot of my aches and pains are, but still be vigilant of any new ones’! Deep breaths ..

the marks on chest and rib are gone Doc thinks it was a bruised rib and sternum. Don't know how that happened but who cares now
As for the sacrum no change in size and bloods are fine so shes feeling more certain that is calcium build up from arthritis. Don’t have to go back for 6 months then new scan in 12 months
I’m to stay on tamoxifen even though it’s usually for pre menopausal its giving me less side effects.They cant give me 100% guarantee it not mets because they look the same on the scans.Either way we treat it as arthritis Pain relief etcSo i am going Work out how to put The underlying fears to the back of my mind and and find some sort of new normal.
Its been nearly 5 years since my life was turned upside down first hubby passing from cancer and just over 4 since finding mine. - F**king hell, @cranky_granny - they really need to explain it to you before you see the GP or specialist ..... you need to be comfy with understanding your results & future treatments & WHY you need those treatments!!
Make sure you ask your Onc for a clear understanding of WHAT it say & WHAT the treatment options are.
Record it (and EVERY meeting), for your own 'history/understanding'! ;) xxx Take care xx - @arpie other than when I was first diagnosed none of them have said anything about what in the scans since November last year this is my 4th one. I usually go see my GP when I pick up the pics and report and he fills me in. But he’s on holidays lucky him.
I see oncologist next Friday so I just sit on the hurry up and wait train. Just plays with head in between.
